maximum authorized altitude
A published altitude representing the highest usable altitude or flight level on an airway, jet route, or area navigation for which the minimum en route altitude has been promulgated and adequate NAVAID (navigational aid) reception is ensured. The illustration shows the way MAA is represented on aeronautical charts.
